What Is the Definition of Done in Scrum?
The Definition of Done (DoD) is a shared set of quality standards the Increment must meet to be considered “done,” creating transparency and a common understanding of completeness for the Scrum Team. It ensures the work is genuinely usable and valuable.
Metaphor
A Definition of Done in Scrum is like the certified pre-owned process at a dealership. It confirms the car has passed a strict checklist so you can drive it off the lot with confidence.
Likewise, the DoD ensures every Increment meets quality standards and is truly ready to use.
